power off doesn’t save you any money… you have to power off, take a snapshot and then destroy and much like a semi-truck, it’s only worth it if you’re gonna leave it off for several hours or more. 8 hours for an overnight and you might lose more on the restart.. multiply .007 by how long you want to leave if off to see if you surpass a penny first. I’ve spent several pennies field stripping a server to secure it as quick as possible then save a snap shot and destroy, just to make sure I’ve got one in reserve for an emergency client.. you can usually charge them an I’m in a hurry tax.
